Mist on the West Lake
So it's not all doom and gloom chez Zen. My good friend A has spent hours (weeks, months?) making my China travel diary into a book. It feels really good to have someone show so much faith in my writing. I have put a badge in the sidebar that allows interested parties to preview the book and it can be seen here.I am really left without words to express how much I appreciate what A has done. It has uplifted me at a pretty glum time. Thanks A.

A is truly a sweetheart. I enjoyed your China travelogue when I read it (I think "blog" does it a disservice).
I was just directed to your blog from Crikey and enjoyed your commentary greatly, you really are a fantastic writer.... But God forbid actual talent ended up at the Courier Mail. They may actually have to start respecting such unimportant little things like free speech and balanced commentary.
Good luck in the job hunt and I hope you find somewhere worthy of your talents.
Meredith.
Thank you for that lovely comment. It has made a trying time much easier to bear that people have been kind enough to take the time to leave nice comments and emails.
I believe I pointed out at the time that you should make something of your China travels, or if not I meant to.
Good that A. found reason in it to use her talents, her spirit and her willing goodness.
Reading your recent posts, which were complete on my RSS feed despite your deletions, I felt a shiver go down my spine. I've sailed very close to the wind on that subject, with one nutter going to great lengths to try to get me sacked. Luckily he was a nutter, visible to the naked eye, and not the chou-chou of a think-tank. So I live to fight another day.
Best wishes, D. You don't hear much from me these days because I read on RSS, and those posts that touch me most touch me so much that I can hardly bear to read them. If only there were a smiley-type button to click to signify that sort of reaction.
Let me know when you get to Blighty. I will deffo take the Eurostar to beard you in your den.
Thanks Hopey. I look forward to the day.
Zenner: I don't really know how I
earned your friendship, and I'm
grateful for it.
I dropped an article at my blahg hyping
your book. Best I could, anyway. When I
have some cash I would like to hold
your combined efforts in my hands.
Dearly so.
To Grapes: I remember reading your
comment saying he should publish his
travel writing, Sir.
To A: You done good, and I'm proud of you.
