Debate 3
Bring a fork for Sen. McCain.***
Here's the key moment for me: McCain lied about fining "Joe the plumber". "Tell us what you'll fine Joe."
So Obama said "well nothing; I'm only taking action against big businesses. I'll actually help small businesses."
And McCain simply repeated the lie. Didn't defend his own policy. Didn't rebut Obama. Just lied again.

First half hour was about even. The moderator, a Republican whose brother is a Republican-appointed ambassador, lobbed soft ones for McCain. The next hour was a bloodbath.
WTF at the CNN analysts? McCain did not do well. He was basically an arsehole. It's not "strong" to shit-talk your opponent for an hour and a half. It makes you look like a loser. And he will be.

I don't think McCain wanted to be clear about what he was saying, but what he meant was that Joe the plumber would be fined if he didn't buy health insurance for his own children.
Yes, that would fall under "didn't rebut Obama" because it would have been a clear rebuttal. I'm not personally a fan of Obama's healthcare plan, but he killed McCain on that issue. I think he buried him tonight, and that was pretty much the place where he started shovelling.
Mac did seem like an arsehole throughout. And he looked sick, IMO. Shaky, blinky, just bad. I know that's shallow. Whatev. Even the Fox analysts weren't complimentary.
Joe the plumber! So ridic. He probably makes over $50 an hour, poor guy.
My favourite "Joe the plumber" moment was when McCain started ranting "Joe, you're rich, well done Joe". I credit him for reining himself in and not saying "and fuck the poor" but does he really think that making it clear that he's in it for the rich is a good idea in a recession?

Anthony, you should appreciate that I'm English, and am used to universal healthcare that I pay for with taxes.
Landslide.
Well, personally I pay for the health insurance and health care for myself and my family out of my own pocket. What is Obama's plan going to do for me? It's going to drive my rates through the roof as my insurance company will be forced to accept into the pool really sick people who didn't bother to get insurance until after they got really sick.
God forbid the poor should have healthcare at your expense. Anyone would think you lived in a society. And everyone knows you live up a mountain with no contact with other people.
"sick people who didn't bother to get insurance until after they got really sick."
Whoa, buddy. Let me be the first to illuminate you that poor people didn't bother to get health insurance not because they are careless, but because they can't afford it. I know that you and McShame think that those who don't have enough to pay for the insurance company CEOs next yacht are sub-human creatures who don't deserve health care, but decent people tend to think otherwise.
