Hell in a handkerchief

wat

Fuck no. We should not teach theology in a fucking science class.

I don't have time to fisk this idiot, but he blogs it here. The simple answer to children who bring up their god in a science class is "whatever your beliefs about how the world came into being, this class is about science. Science excludes supernatural explanations. It may not be correct to do so, but that's what it does, and that's what we're studying here."

"Just because something lacks scientific support doesn't seem to me a sufficient reason to omit it from a science lesson" - If that isn't then WTF is? We are happy to omit King Arthur from history lessons because there is no historical support for him, we'd look very foolish teaching a flat earth in geography, we don't teach La Peste in Eng Lit, usw.

I cannot understand what the Royal Society is doing with this man as its education director.

That's what struck me. This guy is the chief of education of the centre of our scientific universe! Unreal.
