no porto in a stormo

so, look, i'm not saying the Guardian is poorly subbed, but do your antennae not twitch at a claim that Portuguese may omit the letter "p"?

so it will be Ortugal, right?

of course, what they mean is that "p" may be dropped from words such as optimo, which is spelled without the "p" in Brazilian Portuguese. It's pronounced in both versions as written in Brazil.
