What teh fuck?!Perhaps Mr Blair could go on to enlighten us on what exactly about blacks makes them murderous thugs?
This primped-up peabrained peacock has rarely left me speechless but reading that was a mouth wide open what teh fuck moment. He's not even trying to get elected! He's not even trying to appeal to the mindless BNP crowd. This is his idea of letting it all hang out on his way out the door.
Maybe Mr Blair should combine his new insight with this initiative and simply intern Britain's black population?
He said: "We need to stop thinking of this as a society that has gone wrong - it has not - but of specific groups that for specific reasons have gone outside of the proper lines of respect and good conduct towards others and need by specific measures to be brought back into the fold."
I never thought I would read a 21st century "Labour" politician suggesting that darkies need to be taught respect, but if you live long enough, you see it all, I suppose.

theminotaur, America's problem is not just that blacks are disproportionately poor but that judges disproportionately jail them, as you note. I think the difficulty with fixing that is that Americans are very wary of systemwide change. What I mean is, they are wary, sometimes rightly, of federal interference. But without it, how can this sort of thing get fixed? I realise, saying that, that asking the government to impose "decency" on the locals is asking for trouble.

hey do but at the moment both gun and knife attacks are taking place predominantly areas with large black populations and are predominantly black on black.

In a very short space of time, the actually the figure is 7, 14-18 yr olds dead in 3 months, but it was happening at a lower level and not making the big headlines. Living where you do you are a little out of touch.

I have a better grasp of what black people are like. The kids i went to school with had choices some a large percentage turned to crime others didnt, those that didnt on the whole did very well. I i went to school in one of Londons most deprived areas.

Actually the area of London that i lived also had a very large Hasidic community, on one side lived a Hasidic Rabbi on the other side lived an ordinary Jewish family. Very Few blacks lived in our street but the other side of the common was a different story. I have a few Jewish friends now none then, as they tended to go to Jewish schools. One of my Jewish friends is an author and freelance journalist i can guarantee that you have read his work.
