Shame of our age

For shame! To be a citizen of a dirty, squalid nation, of a nation that tortures those who believe it will protect them.

None of these people will ever be punished. Not Blair, not Brown, not Bush, not Cheney, nor any of the underlings who did their bidding, making our nations torture states, pariahs. That is a greater shame than what we have done.

Life in the UK is a mystery to me, but here in America the economic pressures of daily life place involvement in things political beyond the reach of many. In a way it becomes the province of the idle rich. Then perhaps the question becomes not what is right, but what is profitable.

Before you explain to this dunce that communism is the answer to all ills, perhaps you can explain why in China (presumably a communist country) people are struggling to find jobs just as they are anywhere else. It's my observation that wherever you have government you have bureaucracy and corruption.

And frankly, aside from being a vehicle through which individuals can band together to build roads and railways and the like, I think government is unnecessary.

China is far from Communist, and has never been. Still, Maoism had some success. It depends how you define "success" how much.

Communists believe that the state will wither away. In theory, I suppose I'm an anarchist, but I don't believe we can get there from here without stopping somewhere on the way.
