Pure magic. In a bitterly cynical world, let's be inspired by the Iraqi football team, champions of Asia. Where Australia, the most talented team on paper, whined and sulked through the tournament, played awful football and were profoundly uninspiring, the Iraqis played artful, attacking football, rose above their limits and triumphed. Sadly, as Younis Mahmoud, brilliant throughout the tournament, pointed out, the triumph will not unite the nation (despite the team's ethnic mix) and the hearts of Iraqis will not be lifted by seeing their champions come home:
Mahmoud, who was named best player of the tournament, said one of the tragedies of the war was that the team would not even be able to return to Iraq with the trophy.
'I wish we could go, but you just don't know who will kill you,' he said.

sports is one good answer, i suppose.
personally, i'd like to see everyone dancing.
it's healthy, it's good exercise, and it's fun and invigorating.
